 Abstract:  The Western Reserve Society of the Sons of the American Revolution was organized February 22, 1892 with a jurisdiction including Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, Trumbull, Portage, Summit, Medina, Lorain, Ashland, Huron and Erie counties. Its purpose was the perpetuation of the memory and spirit of the men who achieved American independence, through research, publication, preservation of documents and relics and celebration of patriotic anniversaries. The collection consists of two volumes of minutes which include annual reports of activities and membership lists.

 Abstract:  The Ohio Society Daughters of the American Revolution is an affiliate to the National Society. The society's programs include youth scholarship, adult literacy, national defense, community service awards, service to veterans, historic preservation, and conservation. During World War I, the Ohio Society undertook a project to support members of the United States military. The collection consists of Selective Service bulletins, chapter names, check lists, correspondence, expenses and financial records, military and non-military war service records, notes taken in the office, notebooks, officer lists, and volunteer lists.

Her husband, Clayton Ely Emig, was an attorney who served in World War I. The collection consists of correspondence, clippings, military intelligence reports, and memorabilia. The collection relates to Leila Emig's work with the National Society of the Children of the American Revolution and to Clayton Emig's military involvement in 1918.

Smith, who was chapter historian during the early years.

 Abstract:  Local chapter of the national patriotic society. The Western Reserve Chapter was founded in 1891 in Cleveland, Ohio, by a group of women led by Catherine Hitchcock Tilden Avery. In addition to planning and implementing some of the earliest Americanization programs, the DAR was also involved in providing nursing care and emergency relief to victims of wars and floods. The collection consists of minutes, reports of delegations to the Continental Congress of the DAR, resolutions in memory of deceased members, notices of events, correspondence, addresses given to the DAR and other groups, reports of events of the Society of the Army of the Tennessee, and committee reports.
